Little Memphis Blues Orchestra is the next generation of
The Taylor Hicks
Band. LMBO began as
the brain-child of a close-knit group of talented
artists that were staring into the face of significant
changes to their five member group. Taylor Hicks, the
band's lead singer, flew to Las Vegas and auditioned for
American Idol in 2005 and by February 2006 he was easily
one of the front-runners on the show. While Taylor and
the other four members of the band remain committed to
each other, as they say in Hollywood, the show must go
on. Fans of the foursome are now treated to a wide range
of music that includes originals from all members of the
group, as well as covers from the greats in the
industry. Cover inspiration comes from noted bands and
musicians such as The Meters, Booker T and the M G's,
The Allman Brothers Band, Stevie Wonder, and Jimi
Hendrix, just to name a few. On any given day you will
find LMBO members playing in hot spots throughout the
southeast and currently expanding from coast to coast.
Brian Less
(piano,organ,vocals) draws his rock-a-billy blues
style from his Memphis,TN roots.
Sam Gunderson
(guitar, vocals) hails from the DC area where
he picked up his blues and rock riffs.
On
the bass
Mitch Jones
brings a solid backbone from years of touring from his
Enterprise home in Alabama's deep south.
Zippy (drums, percussion, vocals) combines his formal drum line
training and years of touring experience, keeping true
to his native north Alabama.
